What to pack for a Florida Vacation

What to pack for a Florida Vacation

Girl, I am so excited you have booked your Florida vacation! (que the song FLORIDA by Ms. Swift) As a Florida native, I may be biased, but I think Florida has the best beaches, the prettiest sunsets and some very cool wildlife. However, depending on where you are going in Florida and what you are doing it can be difficult to narrow down what to pack for your vacation. And we do not need to be paying extra for baggage. Here are some of the essentials that you definitely need to have packed for your upcoming trip.

*this list is specifically if you are visiting Florida in the spring/summer months (May-September) although most of these options probably work for year round*

Theme Park Outfits

Okay so this category can be quickly overtaken by mouse ears, and endless amounts of very cute tees (I may have some first hand experience with buying one too many tees). However, if you have limited room in your suitcase then these are the essentials that you should have.

I feel like I should mention that theme parks in the summer are HOT!!! There can be minimal shade, high humidity and a LOT of walking. So in this list are also items that you will need in your theme park bags.

Cheetah Romper

Cheetah Romper Outfit

Obviously cute for a DAK day and this romper is oversized/flowy which is a win for the FL heat. It has pockets, and is 100% cotton. This can also be worn for a “cool girl” outfit outside of the theme parks if you are going to a casual dinner or walking around a town.

White Maxi Skirt

Maxi skirts are such a win for the summer because it will keep you cool and comfortable even on the hottest days. Don’t be scared because it’s white. This maxi skirt is double lined so it’s not see through at all. I love pairing this with a cute tee and some sneakers for a stylish but comfy day.

Elevated Basic Tee

White Tee Shirt

On vacation basic tees are essential because you can wash them and restyle them as many times as you need to. They go with shorts, jeans, skirts, literally endless options.

Park bag essentials: personal fan, cooling towel (yes these actually work), flip flops for when it rains (you never know when it can monsoon and walking around in wet sneakers is the worst), hair ties, spf, hand sanitizer, charging bank, sunglasses, water bottle…stay hydrated!

South Florida Essentials

For the days you are not going to theme parks but relaxing on the gorgeous South FL beaches here are some essentials to pack.

Striped Boxer Shorts

These are perfect for going to the beach and then straight to lunch. They are comfy and can be styled with a cute tee for a casual FL girl vibe.

Seashell Hair Clip

I don’t think this one needs an explanation. It’s so cute to throw your hair up on a beach day (especially if you don’t want to do a full ocean dunk that day).

Sunday Brunch Mini Dress

This dress screams summer in FL and it’s fun to dress up at least one day for dinner at sunset. Pair this dress with some platform sandals and a cute bag, you’re good to go.

Let me know what else you would pack for your Florida vacation down in the comments.
